Are you ****ing kidding me, How dare you even place the great mans name next to Pavlik. Get yourself together, just another wanna be fan who has probably never seen Carlos fight.

    You Idiot
    Seriously you Idiot

You deserve a smack in the mouth for this post.

Let's not get bitchy; comparing a contemporary linear champion with a past one isn't necessarily bad form. It is interesting just for debating's sake, even if it is unfair.

Pavlik could actually give Monzon trouble IMO. Monzon would pull out the W with his better defence and movement, but it's not a happy style match-up for him and he won't be able to rely on size and strength like he normally does.

By the way Xplosive, you are one of the ESB's gutter posters and your biased treatment of Pavlik is worse than much of his supposed mob.

The whole general forum is a gutter, so I see no reason to take anything seriously. I easily have more knowledge then the majority of this forum, I just like seein the Pav groupies suffer.

What was Monzon skilled at? Clinching? Rabbit punching? Pulling back from dwarves? Taking big swings at his opponents on the inside? I'll give him credit for those.

Monzon is obviously a much better fighter than Pavlik, but he was heavily reliant on size advantages against most of his opponents and his offence was limited and simplistic (although technically sound) compared to other MW greats. Where he fought somebody his own size he pulled out the victory on power punching. That is a fact. He has none of these advantages over Pavlik.

Monzon would control most of the exchanges and has the better defence and would get the decision in the end, though he probably wouldn't look good doing it.
