Pavlik vs Rose ??

I don't know. My memory was Kelly would get $2 or less so the $3.75 might have been total for the event/card. And that was with Kelly saying he would take less to make the fight.

I thought this fight was not going to be a PPV but an HBO Championship Boxing event?

No way can this be right. I think Pavlik must've mispoke when he said Rose. I bet he ment to say Rhodes. Ryan Rhodes is Martinez's mandatory after beating Jamie Moore. He's a decent 154, but still waaaaaay outmatched by Pavlik.

HBO would never put up money for Rose, nor would ppv sell anything, especially based on the Espino ordeal. I'm suprised if they were even serious about Rhodes. So many other guys out there that would make better fights. Gevor, Simon, Lorenzo, Lopez, Geale, Golovkin, or N'Jikam. If Kelly fights in London, I imagine it'll be against Hatton's man Macklin who'll be the WBO mandatory in April if he beats Pirog.

 

I'd pay to see Moore fight Pavlik. I don't have any interest in a Rhodes bout though.

 

Good call. They must of misheard him. Rhodes is a little better, but still outmatched as you say.

 

Bottom line, Kelly is not the cash cow the Williams camp thinks he is. NBA is now throwing out some figure like Kelly would make $6 or $8 mill for the fight. He called it a rumor but he seems relatively close to the Williams folks to have good info. Same crap happened with the first proposed fight that Kelly had started training for with Williams. They pulled out after agreeing saying Arum had "taken money off the table". This 'tactic' is not new for Goosen.

But this is all off topic for this thread. Pavlik vs Rose? In England? Not unless there is a **** load of money being offered. Arum stated prior to the Espino fight that Kelly was being offered bouts in London and Dubai.

 

Or the reporter misunderstood and went back and looked it up on the internet?

 

Brian Rose -- Ryan Rhodes? Could be a slip on Pavlik's part. However, if KP is going to take another small fight, I would be very disappointed.

Fighting one of the lads in the queen's city would be a smashing idea, but he ought to fight a bloke who can give him a cracking good fight. Right now that looks like Macklin.

 

I feel the same way! I used to like Pavlik at one point but after coming onto ESB I've gotten off that train!!!

It's to soon for that fight. Both camps need to keep chatting it up, but let it stew on the back burner until about the time the tourney ends.

 

What if Pavlik loses in that time? Thats nearly 2 years away!

As boxing fans we wanna see Pavlik fight A-Level comp and if PW isn't ready or not gonna take the fight for what ever reason then Pavlik needs to step the comp up ASAP!!

Gary Lockett was a much better MW contender. And #1 ranked contender in the World.
