Pavlik's stated goal is to unify the titles at 160. As for slappy Joe? Put it this way; slappy called Pavlik out immediately after the Taylor fight, and then ran down to the nursing home and joined the wheel chair boxing league so he could pick a fight with BHop:yep
Pavlik can defeat anyone at 160 -168. Both natural weight classes and i dont think there is a fighter who can keep up with him for 12 rounds. He is really uniqe. Hard hitting accurate puncher who throws a **** ton of hard punches. Joe would be the hardest but his defense is not stellar and he wont be backing kelly up.
I think he should clean house first before talking about going up in weight to super and light heavy. I like Pavlik hes great to watch but needs to do a bit more before I would say he could beat JC OR Kessler imo from what I have seen. I think Kessler hurts kelly big time.
Its way too soon to be talking about what ifs in regard to pavlick moving up. He's only JUST become champion. He hasn't even had the Taylor rematch yet. His resume is hardly deep and stellar outside of the last year. Nothing wrong with hypotheticals but this is seriously jumping the gun.
The guy that wrote that lives in Youngstown. Maybe he took a little walk over to the gym where Kelly trains & saw his awesome power with his own eyes? Could it be? An actual eye witness account?
where as in reality pavlik was already tied up with the taylor rematch you dimwit. calzaghe has already said he has limited time left in the game and he's not gonna sit around and wait for pavlik, especially when pavlik has already shown weaknesses that even jermaine taylor picked on and could potentially ruin any showdown. but you carry on living in cloud cuckoo land where kelly pavlik is an unbeatable, middleweight demi god.
Pavlik's gotta get past Taylor 1st, which I expect hi to do. Only 25, he's still filling out. He's a huge dude and after all the prep. he's putting in for the higher weight, I imagine he'll have a very hard time getting back down to 160. I cannot imagine him staying there for more than a fight or two @ best. I can't believe the guy's only 160-168, must have hollow bones.
Pencil legs, like a deer. Nice long, thin muscles. Much better for boxing than a body builder type like a Holyfield. Difficult to throw straight punches when your muscle bound like Holy or Jeff Lacey, etc. Thats why those guys throw so many haymaker type punches. Kelly's the complete package!:happy
Do you thik Kessler lays out Taylor and Miranda like Pavlik did? I don't think so. Pavlik does hit harder.
Wait until feb 16th, and JT feels the power. I've been saying JT will be KO'd in 7, but if it goes that long JT may really get hurt bad.
He is actually 'bottom heavy' compared to Taylor. I found the 'tale of the tape' interesting in that regard. It would seem he doesn't work out to add 'vanity weight' to his frame.
Im not a fan of weight jumping either. That problem has evolved as a result of all these weight divisions being invented. Stay at Middleweight and defend those belts, become one of the greater middleweight champions in history.
