What a waste of talent, retired british and commenwealth lightheavweight champion on a 9 fight win streak, along the way taking 6 unbeaten records, this was a article on him in one of my old boxing monthly's, he was so avoided it was unreal, steve bunce was a big fan of his, when danny williams pulled out last minute against skelton peter wanted to step in, but frank and skelton's team didnt want to know. He was thrown in the deep end right from the start of his career a 40 fight pro at the time johnny nelson could only beat him on points as could wbo heavyweight champion scot welch. He was due to fight tony oakey but pulled out last minute, there were alot of different rumors why he did it, only thing peter did say was win or lose it was a no win situation, he said he would of stuggled to get even more fights if he beat tony up. Any one know much more about him or what he is doing now?
Also in peter's 9th fight he knocked out then european lightheavyweight champion in 1 round in a non title fight
Yeah thats sonny, one of my all time favourite he had one of the best jabs i have ever seen! was also very underrated. But lets keep this about peter oboh, also peter was the wba international champion and rated number 5 by them:good
Oboh was matched hard practically all the way through his stop start career --did he retire because of bad hands?
