Last nights, old man V young man, result has changed my opinion on Pavlik-Hopkins. I'm not sure if it should really though as Popkins is a different kind of beast from Tarver.

Pavlik ain't as good as Dawson by a long way either. Different strengths of course, but Pavlik is facing a much worse stylistic matchup whereas Dawson held the advantage in his.

Still, I've changed my mind since that fight was first announced. I think Pavlik will just squeeze this out down the stretch, and even if he doesn't he'll probably get favored by the judges.

I fancy Malignaggi to outpoint Hatton (I hope not as I don't like Paulie).
Haye to knock out Barrett with a few hairy moments beforehand.
Calzaghe to outpoint Jones in a thouroughly inconclusive affair.
Pavlik to finally be the man who catches up with B-Hop. KO.
Taylor will outbox Lacy comprehensively for a UD.
De la Hoya to beat Pac on points, KO if he lands his left hook flush early.

Pavlik-Hopkins Pavlik should have enough in the tank to do what Calzaghe did, but it wont be pretty. Ghost by narrow decision or late stoppage if he can tire out hops and hops isnt allowed to rub his balls for a 5 minute breather.
Taylor-Lacy Lacy looks to have fallen out of love with the game, but might well see this as his last chance at the big time. If Lacy is fully motivated he might well pull off the upset here. I wont be betting on this either way till much closer to the fight so I can see what sort of shape the guys look in. In the end though it wont matter as the winner will get hammered by Froch.
