I may have to take a week or more off, any tips on keeping my weight down. All I can really do without irritating it is core work..(Havent tried much, but pushups irritate it, and so does skipping, so Im guessing any skill work would as well, not really worth risking) Im thinking maybe just eat lightly.
Leg work... maybe light shadow boxing if that doesnt irritate it... Otherwise yea, I think you'll have to cut the calories a little.
Dude if you have a pinched nerve in your back im tipping you will need more then a week off. A pinched nerve can be very very painful. I got a mate who got a pinched nerve playing football and had it operated on about 4 years later because its the only way it could be fixed. Good luck with it..
Pinched nerve, likely in the spinal area means you need to work on your posture. Improve your posture a couple ways, by strengthening your abs and lower back, and holding your shoulders correctly.. Ideal posture is as if your standing up straight.. Back up, to a wall, let your upper back, head, butt and heels touch the wall. Step off the wall, roll your shoulders back, then let them drop.. That is good posture.. What happens when you get a pinched nerve, the vertebre in your back/spinal area are tilting in an extreme direction, pinching the spongy tissue inbetween your spine.. Only way to really improve that problem long term is to improve your posture. I cant say what you should do with the unjury as it is other than trying to fix your posture. Once you have recovered, you should include planks in your workouts along with the ab workouts to help prevent the sort of injury I just explained.
everyone i ever known with a pinched nerve has gotten it through a hard knock in the back. Usually a disc slipped and pinched the nerve..
Well said! :good Good old fashioned boxing advice which is as applicable now as it was 100 years ago.
you'll have to just take it easy and Ice your back down. Pinched nerves can last quite a long time if you don't take care of it.
Tough break. This may take a while. Get a proper assessment and diagnosiis. Then your options are as follows: -- rest -- anti-inflammatory drugs (both oral and topical) -- ice -- traction -- time. Hopefully you do not need surgery.
