How many points is the referee allowed to deduct? Is there a point where the referee says too many illegal blows and so forth and stops the fight?
MOST referees will only take 3 points, after that the fighter is usually disqualified. I believe one of our alphabet soup organizations has that in their rule book.
Is there some kind of link I can look at to read about the various rules in countries and organisations like WBO IBF WBC other than wikipedia.
I'm trying to find one for ya. It's nearly impossible to find one for the major organizations but search around and you'll find a rule book for amateurs and what not. Doubt your interested in those though.
Refs also don't like having to a repeatedly take points off for the same infraction. A boxers maje get away with 3 points for different fouls but not for the same type.
hmm says... here are somethings things that cause point deductions.... Read it very carefully... some fighters tend to get away with infractions without any warning.. I will highlight the ones I see often and the ref doesn't really call it.
