I remember when i first saw Jones, when he fought Barrera and stopped him in 5.

    Great performance.

He was a very good fighter... I remember him getting destroyed by John Michael Johnson in a real thriller.

He had Barerra's #. Suffered a tough loss against the great Morales and was pretty good in his day. I don't know why he gets overlooked so much.

I think he's overlooked because he was nothing more than a good offensive fighter who was freakishly tall for his division. His punch resistance was among some of the very worst in the last 30 years in my judgment. He was knocked out multiple times during his career, and when he fought a past it Canizales up at 122lbs, he looked like going out everytime Orlando would land a good punch.

Marco Antonio Barrera was caught with a damn good right hand that he didn't see and was hurt badly. End of story. He lost the fight, but he wasn't being stood on his head prior to that. Marco was no longer invincible and his confidence took a nose dive, and he fought very cautiously in the rematch. A lot of people thought Marco did enough to win, but Jones was given the verdict. He was not "schooled" in the rematch as an uneducated poster put it earlier on a different thread.

Good offensive fighter, huge frame for 118lbs and 122lbs. He could dish it out but couldn't take it.

Agreed. He was a good fighter but had a lackluster chin. You're really making me want to watch the rematch again I haven't seen it in a while.

In his fight with John Michael Johnson he punched himself out in the first two rounds afterwards he was gradually worn down until he could no longer defend himself...Kennedy Mckinney deserves more props than him.

poison was one of the hardest damn punchers i've ever seen in the light divisions. he was also a chinny guy, alot like terry norris. his best fights imo were with kennedy mckinney. i loved how mckinney stayed composed and was able to get back at jones, but those bombs from jones were with real bad intentions
