This would be a fun fight while it lasted. Both guys are swarmers, Pryor's gone down before while Hatton seems to be more resilient in the chin dept. Pryor can adapt and box while Hatton turns up the heat when pressed. Pryor would not be using the "black" bottle for this fight. Who wins?
Hatton would run into a buzzsaw that would bust him up and they would stop the fight inside 7 on cuts with Hatton face a gory mess.
If Hatton he tried to box like he did against Urango and Tackie, Pryor simply swarms him and beats the living crap out of him. If Hatton tries to rough Pryor up on the inside, he finds himself looking up at the lights. Terrible style matchup for Hatton. I would take Antonio Cervantes and Alexis Arguello over Hatton without hesitation too. Mid round TKO for Pryor
I really can't think of anything that Hatton does better than Pryor. I would take Pryor for the t/ko in the 5-7 round range
hatton is more of a rugged pressure fighter than a swarmer. i'd take pryor over him by stoppage between rds. 6-9
Pryor has gone down before, but he has also taken some of the most brutal punches I've ever seen anyone take, and come back like nothing happened. You don't just eat an Alexis Arguello, loaded uppercut and just shrug that off. Hatton couldn't land a punch that hard if he weighed 50 lbs more and was on roids.
I think it would be a good tear up with Pryor winning, but not easily, possibly on points, you have to remember Pryor started off as a lightweight and he wasnt a very big light welterweight. If Hatton could keep it close and maul Pryor i could see him pulling it out. People have a go at Hatton for his comp (not warrented i believe) but Pryor beat an old Cervantes and had two wars with Arguello whom started his career at Featherweight (although still a quality fighter), apart from them names his comp is pretty shitty.
Wow. This is an odd post. I don't see how anybody could think that Hatton could beat the best 140 pounder ever. Aaron Pryor by knockout, in any round he ****ing wants.
Similar to the previous poster, I am confused as to why anyone would think Ricky could beat Pryor. Hatton has no jab and no defense. Against any decent world class fighter still in their prime he'd lose. The best thing about his career is his match making in that he has won so many titles against so many non-world quality fighters. Pryor would pick him apart similar to Mayweather.
