I do give him the respect he deserves. For being 4 years off, coming into a fight and being that dominant is impressive.

What pisses me off is that I stuck by Sam Peter and defended him for so long. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for probably too many times and split words with alot of people over him. And tonight he shows up like a ****ing joke. Now Vitali is a tough guy to fight but come on. The guy didn't even win a ****ing round. He was thoroughly dominated by a guy who was off for 4 years. That should NEVER happen at the top level. I bet you that Povetkin would have won a round. I bet JC Gomez would have won a round. Hell I bet McCline would have won a round too!

But not Sam Peter. The most inept heavyweight I have had the displeasure of supporting.

I have to agree. While we all give credit to Vitali.... Sams performance was borderline embarrassing. Peter worked hard to get a belt and he looked like a "c" level fighter at best tonight. It was pathetic and disturbing. No heart at all. Makes we wonder if his heart and confidence will ever be back

Peter did look bad, but Vitali really made him look bad too. This was a very hard fight to judge who caused the outcome more...Peter being horrible or Vitali doing great. I think its a combo. I think Vitali looked better than most thought he would, but Scam did make him look incredible because Vitali was almost playing the tubby at some points it looked like.

All in all, Scam should leave boxing. He does not have skills. Thats the bottom line. Fat, slow, no punching technique, bad footwork, no defense, horrible trainers, horrible manager, and not very smart.....thats not a good list of attributes going into the elite level of the HW division.

Right. Maybe Peter was on, and just as skilled and prepared as he every has been, but every time he attempted an assault, he was tagged with a jab or hook, and had to reset.

I don't get how some fail to recognize that the offensive firepower a fighter has to deal with is, many times, the reason why they look so bad. Not due to them lacking, or being out of shape, or merely showing up to collect a paycheck, but because they can't get their punches off, due to getting constantly beaten to the punch by a better man.

    :good

As I saw it, Peter was Peter. Its just that he was beaten to the punch by Vitali, over and over again. No lacking on Peter's part, he was merely outclassed, outboxed, and shut down so badly that his best effort was completely ineffective.

Glad to know you can be objective about it Chef. :good

It's one thing if you get stopped on cuts like Vitali was. Or knocked down 3 times like Wladimir was against Sanders. But what happend tonight was totally on another level.

I swear people love to defend this crap too. The guy decided to be a fighter. He gets paid to fight. That's like me getting paid to be a developer and then telling my clients hey guess what? I didn't do the job!

Ridiculous is what it is. And like I've called for before I'll say again. This man should not be fighting. Not supported as a boxer no longer. Find another profession. One he can take seriously.

Agreed. While Vitali was impressive for a guy with a 4 year lay off, he was NEVER pressured at all. I like Vitali.... but was he really tested? I think it was a combo of both. Vitali surprised Peter IMO. Even Wlad was nervous before this fight. I never told you guys that. They were expecting that big puncher, but it never showed up

It looked to me that Peter kinda Quit when he got wobbled in the 1st round. Peters lack of proper technique was shocking. He was totally out classed through this whole thing. Starting with the 1st press conference to the lack of respect by not showing up at the press conference.

I really thought this was going to be a slug fest. I think Vitali expected it as well. Im still kinda shocked at Peters performance.
