    I am not really into the *what if* kind of threads, but I thought this is a possible matchup that would be worth a mention.

    Not since the talk of Toney / Byrd has a pairing been as closely matched with two similar fighters who each has very similar assets, as well as similar shortcomings.

    What an interesting fight this would be.......one I would hope is made at some point. :good

    Chagaev knocks him out pre-injuries. Ruslan was a good/great heavy before all those injuries ****ed with him.

    I don't think they are that similar. Chagaev is a defensive fighter, he prefers to counter and rarely leads.

    Povetkin has insane work-rate for a heavy and is always coming forward.

    It's an intriguing styles matchup. Povetkin is a sucker for a right hand, how he deals with the southpaw left would be the key here as that is Chagaev's main weapon. If he deals with it well enough he could and should take a comfortable decision on work-rate.
