If Huck had Provetkin out on his feet a few times in their fight then Haye could and would nock him out by round 6.
This fight is all wrong for Haye and would prove a tougher match up for Haye than even Waldo. Povetkin walks him down and slips one of Haye's usual huge telegraphed 'Hayemakers' thrown from the back of the room gets in close and unleashes a flurry of punches and has Haye all over the place before putting him down with a huge left hook. People would be surprised how early Povetkin wins this. Probably around the 6th round somewhere.

Fair enough, mate. Povetkin is pretty good at cutting off the ring and throws fast, accurate combinations for a heavyweight. The thing in the Huck fight was that Huck's offense was so unconventional and crude that Povetkin couldn't really adapt to it. And Huck's turtle shell defense is tough to crack for anyone, really. Plus he completely undererstimated him, imo. Huck hits like a mule and isn't too slow either. You wouldn't say that Povetkin posseses a good chin? He never was down in his career. Chagaev and especially Huck nailed him with huge bombs in their fights. Anyways, mate. I think we can agree that Povetkin/Haye would be a great stylistical matchup.
It'd be a nice clash of styles and attributes from two of the top rated heavies in the division. Nothing to dislike about that. I do think Haye would win quite easily though, and I'm not saying that as a Brit or a Haye fan or a Povetkin hater, just as an impartial observer. The types of problems that Huck gave to Povetkin are exactly the sorts of problems I foresee Haye giving him, notably fast aggressive power punches coming out of leftfield from odd angles, from all angles, and with bad, bad intentions. Huck and Haye don't share too much stylistically, but they both approach offence in a similar way, attacking in hyper violent unorthodox bursts then backing off and doing relatively little. Haye's the cannier fighter though, and seems to time his attacks a bit better, whilst avoiding or minimising the effect of his opponents' attacks in his off moments. Against a high workrate combination puncher in Povetkin, it'll be interesting how he deals with his rat-a-tat offensive style, but if Povetkin is going to make a dent on Haye, realistically it's going to be later on in the fight. Haye's chin isn't great, but he knows this better than anyone, and I think he'll be able to successfully avoid any big potential fight stoppers from Povetkin in the early going.
I respect your opinion, mate but I have to disagree. How do you see Haye cope with Povetkin's attacks? We saw Ruiz and Chisora have some success by mid-rounds and I can imagine Povetkin will have a much easier time getting inside on Haye due to his educated footwork and crouching-style. You are correct about Haye and Huck sharing the same approach in offence and then doing little. But Haye's defence is completely based on reflexes whereas Huck goes into his turle-shell defense and does **** all. At least Haye tries to counter while backing up and thats exactly where I can see Povetkin find holes in Haye's game. In reality it should be a toss-up. Haye probably has the edge in experience and big fights. Dont forget that Povetkin was in atrocious shape for the Huck fight. It may sound like an excuse but I followed Povektin for a long time, he looked slow and out of breath after 3 rounds. Haye should seriously consider a fight with Povetkin. That's his best chance to get another shot at Klitschko. If he beats Povetkin, the #3 in the division nobody can say he didn't earn his chance again. Best wishes, mate.
The ill-prepared and unmotivated Povetkin that almost lost to Huck would get annihilated by Haye. An in-shape and perfectly prepared Povetkin has a 50/50 chance against Haye IMO.
and from what i have seen of Povetkin recently, especially the Huck fight, he looked no better than old Ruiz
