Assume Gustafsson fights Jones at the end of 2012...who do you put him up against (2 or 3 guys) preceding that fight?
I'd put him in with the most aggressive strikers/grapplers I could. He needs to be put in a **** position so I'm thinking Davis again, Evans etc If it is a striker then it has to be a dangerous striker. When he faces Jones he'll have the size but he needs to understand how dangerous each strike or grapple could be.
Lil Nog Rampage / Bader winner Providing he picks up wins there , that IMO warrants a shot at Jones Sidenote , Rampage would knock him into next week i feel Edit ; does Franklin have an opponent ???
I think Gustafsson poses much more of a threat to Jones than most other guys. He has great boxing(for MMA) and is about as big as Jones with a pretty good reach. He could pose some problems for Jones, although I would expect Jones to just take him down and hold him there. But to answer the question I would have his next fight against Bader or Davis then Shogun.
I'd want to keep Shogun away from Gustafsson.. Simply because I'd hate to see Shogun be used at a measuring stick.
And Shogun shouldn't get a rematch. He got utterly annihilated the first time around, and since then he's lost to a guy who is in the line ahead of him. Also there are a couple of guys who haven't gotten their shot yet who deserve a chance first. :hat
He has about the same reach as Shogun and Hamill, despite being taller. All of his length appears to be in his legs.
I like the Lil Nog idea, he is a solid vet and still a dangerous fighter. Rampage is fighting Bader anyhow so the timeline won't work.
