Prime: Toney vs Hopkins?

    Toney recently called out Hopkins to fight him at 185. Still a good fight but you have to wonder, how would this fight have gone in their primes?

    For example, the James Toney who fought Doug Dewitt and Mike McCallum was fit and dangerous. The best Hopkins was probably the version that beat Felix Trinidad.

    Hopkins has height and reach, can box on the outside and mug on the inside, and is well versed in the art of cheapshotting without getting caught by the ref. Toney is one of the supreme counterpunchers, with superb defence and beautiful combinations.

    Who would you see winning this one?

    prime for prime got to go with b-hop by SD

    this fight was suppose to happen at cruiserweight a while back but never came off.

    In their primes I'll pick Toney.

    Now at 185 . . . I'll pick Bhops. Bhops will simply punch and move and tire out Toney to win rounds and get the decission.

    It's not gonna be a good sight . . . boring.

    Toney was always the better man. Hopkins let us not forget was around at this time but was not top of the tree yet. Both great fighters.
