Prince Naseem Sparring

    The great stories say he was only ever allowed to spar with anyone a stone heavier then him and ive also heard stories about him beating up the Heavyweight Clifton Mitchell and Ryan Rhodes apprently always came off second best.
    Im just interested to hear wether posters on here believe this because i know a lot of very good fighters at 9stone but i couldnt see them physically dominating anyone over 11 stone in sparring especially someone with the same amount of experience etc and although i do have all the respect in the world for the ingles they are no stranger to telling a porkie pie or two lol?

    His punch power would of helped him sparring bigger men, it's not impossible for him to dominate bigger men in sparring. Your right though they do like a porky pie or two :lol:.

    Frampton supposedly knocked out men a lot bigger, i always take things like this with a pinch of salt. Sparring stories often get taken way out of proportion but if you hit hard i have no doubt you can floor a bigger man in sparring.

    I swear someone once posted that Naz and Lennox had words, Ingle took them to a gym, they sparred and Naz floored Lennox :rofl

    It was in the Brit forum I read this too, not the General !

    Could Naz even reach Lennoxs chin?

    I just can not see a featherweight no matter how special he was dominating a experienced heavyweight in sparring not when a european flyweight champion quit the boxing game for good after naseem bashed him up at winconbank gym.

    Naz sparking Lennox must be made up. It must be.

    As for any other sparring stories, I take them all with a massive pinch of salt.

    TBH a Heavyweight fighter isn't gonna go all out on a man much smaller, Naz was a liberty taker. He was spiteful and probs landed a few hard punches that Clifton took and accepted.

    As you said they like porky pies, But in question i could see Naz handling guys around 2 stone heavier.

    I cant i couldnt see Naz handling someone like Matthew Hall or Sam Webb in the gym no way

    TBH i could see Naz doing well with both. Especially Hall who would struggle with the speed and angles. There's a difference between them two and a prime/fresh Ryan Rhodes.
