It was no go fella atsch First 10mins I tried tuning Setanta in and the other 50mis trying to get the other Sky channels back on :-(
I subscribed yesterday afternoon. I am yet to receive the channel. Phoned up twice already about it, about to phone again. Probably already spent the equivalent of one months subscription on call charged. Their customer services are very poor. Looks like I'm gonna have to cancel and just miss the fight.
What a ****ing joke this service is and I thought it was good for boxing, is it ****. I signed up yesterday for the fight, I had the channel for about 25 mins and it cut off. Now I can't get a signal at all. And I can't get through to customer service as they're 'too busy' which is not surpirising. I'm seriously pissed off.
is you fault you can see the top 1 inch of the screen of setanta and the rest is multi couloured bar lines ?
Yeah pretty much and its been like that since monday apart from the odd hour or two on thursday. Though since I tried re-adjusting the dish it now says 'no sateilite signal being received'. Ive got an old style Pace receiver so as you said that might be the problem??
Have never had any problems with Setanta, but did receive an odd recorded message from them advertising the fight tonight, and giving me instructions on how to subscribe to their "welcome back" offer. This has me slightly worried that the channel is going to disappear a minute or two before the fight starts. Any other subscribers received that phonecall from them?
Anyone tried to subscribe via broadband? I was about to but they show you a demo video and it wouldn't play at all. Whenever i clicke dplay it flickered and says ready. Does this mean I won't be able to subscribe?
It's back on! I have the biggest hard on in the world. If this cuts off before the main even I think I will cry though, I'm scared to change the channel!
if you still have the sky channels and are getting no signal received on setanta you nedd to move it fraction by fraction back to where it was. you nedd someone watching the tv while you are up the laddr obviously to guide you. once you have the broken picture back up,it should only take a few min, fraction of a move at a time, use itv 103 for sky and 430 for setanta, then tighten the dish back up. you only need to loosen the top bolt slightly, do not have to touch the bottom bolt on the arm of the dish. do not adjust the height. if you have the old pace receiver and the dish adjust did not work then it is the tuner on the box. the old black pace boxes were made before setanta came along. , if you have a bootsale near you , you normally see sky boxes everywhere from £5 to £10. box to look out for are the panasonic/pace (modern version , white ) sony. amstrad is rubbish normally, but for a few quid worth a go. or if you have a relative/mate with an up to date box , ask to borrow it for 10 mins just to make sure it is the tuner. 99% certain that if you have moved your dish/lnb is ok that it is the tuner in your old box at fault. setanta are ****s in that they do not tell you that setanta and sky equipment is not always compatible.
So I just got off the phone for the 4th time today and I'm getting seriously pissed off. Again they said they are going to send the signal and to wait up to 4 hours!!! I subscribed last night and am yet to view the channel. I pointed this out to the guy on the phone and said I would just cancel..."no you can't cancel you hav to wait 30 days". What a ****ing joke. If I dont get this signal in the next few hours they have another thing coming if they think I'm gonna pay for 2 months when I can't even view the bloody thing I subscribed for.
Just got BT vision today and am chuffed so far. Haye Mormeck on at the mo. Thing is they keep giving the numbers to subscribe.....well how the hell can you see it if you're not already subscribed? Anybody having probs, there are some proper numbers about on the net which bypasses all that queing ****.
Right I have found a possible fix for anyone having setanta viewing problems. Its just worked for me and I am now watching Setanta, although not on channel 429, where it is suppossed to be.... press services then 4 for system setup then 4 for add channels then type in: 11585 for the frequency H for the polarisation click down to find channels press select move down to "Setanta Sports" press the yellow button on your remote then press select then scroll back to other channels, and select setanta sports and you should at least get setanta 1 You should be able to add setanta ireland like this. I have heard on the grapevine that the boxing might be shown on this because of the massive problems setanta have been having.
What an absloute joke of a service. I watched Macca-Hobson as part of the build up, then the signal has went down again. Phoned customer service, been put through to about 10 different clowns who keep giving me a different number to phone. Absloutley pathetic. Also, I'm a freeview customer. Can't believe I'm going to miss this, been waiting for it for so long.
