I'am glad to see they're snatching up fights like Cunningham-Adamek and Toney-Thompson to name a couple off of the top of my head. Maybe this could be the start of something big here and they snatch more world title fights. All ready this is a step up from ESPN's Friday Night Fights and if Versus does well, maybe they'll spend more ti get bigger fights in the future.

They are going to put on three shows in December in about a weeks span. The Winky fight, Cunningham-Adamek, and Toney -Thompson. This is real good news for boxing. With ESPN scaling back its already limited boxing investment, Vs getting deeper into boxing is a blessing.

Bob Arum did not give Vs their monies worth, not even close. Now that they are spreading fights to other promoters they should start getting a nice return as far as matches go. I just hope the ratings make it worth their while.

    Very cool.

I actually really like their on-air analyst team, as well.

what are the plans for espn to scale back their boxing coverage next season? just curious what you've heard

compared to the last couple of years i felt that espn was actually giving boxing MORE mainstream coverage in the recent months, with the two e:60 segments on kelly pavlik and manny pacquiao, and coverage of the weigh-ins for several fights as well as interviews with people like oscar and roy and freddie roach and some others...

glad to see versus is upping their coverage as well, i wish they'd get some better graphics lol... its 2008 guys come on

ESPN is doing away with their Wednesday Night Fights next year. I'm not sure how many shows that is but approximately 12-15 I think. The money isn't being reinvested into Friday Night Fights either.

For the record I did not even know they was going to show toney-thompson and cunning-adamek. Channels like Versus is what boxing needs I'm very proud of them this year. For the year they treated us to hatton, paulie, williams, arroelao, and winky this december etc. This can become the beginning of something big since alot of networks disrespect this great sport.

If they can put together a solid undercard I'll watch them instead of Showtime and HBO on the 13th.

See I can never settle on one. I'll be flipping channels, except more frenetically now than I used to. :!:

I'm not entirely sure I like this new development!

  14. Yea but they only have less than a handful of shows per year
