I do not think he could move up and fight well at cruiserweight, and I am one of the guys who thinks he is a great fighter. He seems to be at a good weight at 175. But 190 or 200 is a little much for him and his style. It will slow him down.

  3. It isn't clear if he would have been effective or competitive at LHW.

i dont think he would have the dig to command respect from bigger guys, if he had durable hands though........

Well, apart from the fact he won a fight against 'the man' at LH.

That doesn't mean anything. Here's some examples:

Michael Spinks, possibly the best LHW ever, moved up to HW & got blown out by Tyson.

Kelly Pavlik, best MW around, moved up to 170 & got schooled.

like i said if calzaghes hands wernt so bad he might be able to do it.....

his walking around weight out of fights was around 14 stone, might give him a boost in the power department, if only his hands were durable

Man, having durable hands doesn't give your power, just in case you didn't know. A guy like Calzaghe, with his frame is pushing it going to CW. Its possible, but for him to be successful, it would be a lot more togher than beating on a 43 yr old.

that is why i used the word maybe

having durable hands would mean he can substain hard hitting for longer.

when he was training he qouted in his book that he was still electrifyingly fast with hands when he got back into training at 14 stone, he also qouted that his legs get tired quicker so there would more likely be a stamina issue

JC qouted that he doesnt weight train for fights, if he was to incoperate that into his training then he would gain a bit of stamina by being in better shape.

i only said maybe, his reach was short for a super middle he would have to pick his opponents carefully to avoid being blasted out by a big cruiserweight.

All that "Joe said" sounds good, but talking and doing it is totally different.
