Did LaMotta really taunt Ray Robinson as in the raging bull movie

"you never put me down Ray"

Or was that just created for the movie??

No LaMotta did not say it, he did not need to, as his body language did it for him.

Scorsese figured the mainstream audience would not get it, so added the verbal.

But LaMotta did price himself on the fact that he was never knocked out or down until very late in his career. by Danny Nardico, Who knocked down the raging Bull.

In the film of the fight Ive got Jake was pretty ****ed up on the ropes...Ray turns to his corner pretty quickly to celebrate and Lamotta slumps back to his nearly as soon as the fight is called.

If he said it, it definitely wasnt like how the movie depicts it.
