    Is being gun shy the same as being shot? There are boxer who lose their physical gifts like speed and skills. But other who gets gun shy but still have all the physical gifts. Isn't fighting through advercity after a tramatic fight part of boxing?

    They are indeed different....but you do need to have a ''gun'' to be ''gun shy.''

    Being shot is more about your reflexes, being unable to pull the trigger, to get out of the way of the shots, etc...You see the opening but can't react quick enough.

    Gun-shy means you're just too worried about throwing punches because you don't want to take the risk of leaving yourself open. Often a result of a fighter being KO'd.
