So I've been doing beginner strength training exercises, and on Mon, Wed, Fri I do a lot of pushups. I know you're supposed to give yourself a rest day in between strength exercises, and I wanted to work on plyometric exercises on these off days. The thing is I will be doing burpees and clap pushups on these off days, will that be OK?

Why not eliminate the burpees and clap pushups those days or add them to the days you are doing strength training?

Plyometrics are taxing on the CNS if done correctly, certainly not something to do on days between strength sessions.

Plyos should not be done until you've had a basic strength training cycle. And then they should be done with much more than a day's rest between sessions.

Its an addition to your basic strength sessions so don't do it on recovery days.
