Due to the recent news about Mayweather announcing his next opponent within the week, has there been any other person who blatantly insults another just to get a headline? Mayweather has been bad mouthing and mentioning Pacquiao's name more than a ******* as of late but the thing is, he isn't even fighting him. I bet there have been other fighters trash talking another, but I bet they were at least going to fight correct?

So has there been any other fighter besides Mayweather to insult another to get a headline?

(Surely he could've just ended his statement as "I am going to give my opponent within the week" rather than "I am going to give my opponent within the week, AND IT ISN'T PACQUIAO"

There's a reason he gets 32+MIL guaranteed. Floyd is SMART. He insults Pac so he can get all the haters talking about him. Pac's fans are like little girls, you say one bad thing about their idol, they will get online and whine incessantly. Good, bad publicity IS publicity.

its not that simple. or it would work for anyone. brandon rios is the biggesr sh.it talker recently with his insults and hes never cracked a million bucks.

Floyd has been building up his hate base ever since fighting DLH. **** talking isn't the same. Anybody can talk. Getting under people's skin like Floyd does to many fans is pure genius.

 

People are beginning to stray from the original topic. Instead of explaining why Floyd does what he does, I was simply asking has there ever been anyone else to use another person's name when they have no intention of fighting them?

 

And how exactly do you know that he has no intention of fighting Pac?
