Scott Quigg's fight against Franklin Varela is a world title eliminator for the WBA belt against Akifumi Shimoda

    Good luck to the guy.

Defence against Frampton in the future would be cool.

That is of course if he can pick the strap up!!!

Doesn't look up to much really, hopefully this was just an off night for him. Was hoping to see Quigg take on some domestic or European contenders first but I guess Hatton is just going straight for the title.

Barking up the wrong tree with the WBA

Rigo gets first shot at the winner of Ramos-Shimoda

and Quigg would get embarassed against Rigo

Why rush him? He's one of best British prospects and is still only in his early 20's. He didn't have much of an amateur career and isn't a devastating 1 punch ko machine. He needs way more experience before moving on to that sort of level.

He is still staying domestic for the next 12 months! He will fight Booth in September or October.

    :deal

He'd be better off holding out for an easier title holder tbh. He hasn't a hope of beating Rigo.
