One hard right and Mercer can still win.

If Mercer's in shape, I would probably take him, even at 46 or whatever he is.

Because Rahman has a GLASS JAW. One good punch from Mercer and Rahman could end up out cold. His record shows that.

Among rated fighters over the last 10-15 years, Rahman has probably the worst chin among the heavyweights.:yep

If Briggs could do a number on Mercer, I don't see why Rahman can't do the same on an older version. That is, if Hasim bothers to show up in shape.

Zakman, I hope I never get dropped while sparring and you find out about it. I am sure that when I get home from the gym and and check ESB, you will have started a thread titled "Motor City Sam Has A Glass Jaw! ". :D

If he continues the trend he has been on lately (261 versus Sykes, 250 versus Ryan, 240 versus Fox) he'll probably be allright.

As has been said, though, he needs to protect that jaw from Mercer or he could get knocked out.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

You hidin' something from your friends at ESB, Sam??

Seriously, guy - Rahman's been knocked OUT COLD several times. Not just knocked down, not just KOd - knocked the **** out, and multiple times too. The tell-tale sign of a glass jaw. :nod

No comment on anything I might be hiding.

I don't disagree with you about Rahman. His jaw makes him vulnerable to any of the hard punching heavies. In fact, I think if Sykes was a harder puncher, he might have been able to stop Rahman this past June. Rock was way out of shape, and Sykes connected a few times.

That's exactly why I give Mercer - even today's SHOT Ray Mercer - a decent shot to win this fight. The big question in my mind is whether Ray can even CONNECT. His timing is, to say the least, not what it was.

This fight either ends up being a boring decision for Rahman - if Ray is so shot he can't even get punches off, OR if Ray can connect on those shaky whiskers of Rahman, it could be a spectacular KO. Whatever happens, neither guy is gonna do much more than be a gatekeeper.

Battle of the mental midgets. Rahman, had the world by the balls after beating LL, only to fall prey to Don King and his wicked ways. As for Mercer, he has basically always been an idiot. Blowing a title shot by coming into a fight out of shape vs. Jesse Ferguson, shaming the sport of boxing his embarassing efforts in K-1 and lets not forget about the Kimbo SLice disaster.

Becoming a journeyman? ****, he doesn't even rate as a journeyman.

As for ruining his career, he ruined he career a long time ago.
