Most of us will agree that Hasim Rahman wasn't anything near an ATG heavyweight...but that one punch against Lewis was definitely nice. I've been thinking about that for a couple weeks... what would happen if Rahman was in the ring with any of the ATG's and landed that same (somewhat lucky) punch? Most men would probably go down from it because he really nailed him, but who would get up? Hoping this can be a nice, non-hating discussion.
It's the allure of the HW divison. One shot can change things, a 238 pound man smacking you in the face is never a pleasant experience.
Yeah Ali came to mind as someone who would probably get up. I think a prime Foreman probably would too because of how strong he was. David Tua would be interesting to see with that, although he's not an ATG.

well he kept declining the fight, and when he finally decided to get it on, he pulls out with an 'injury'.
Freak of a punch,eveything was perfect. Any fighter in history would at least have been seriously shaken by it.
I can see how it appears that way,but i think there was other factors that made it seem that he was afraid;being injury prone being one. At the time,with his physical problems,vitali would have found it difficult to honour a contract to fight Ronald Mcdonald in my view.
