...what went through your mind when Machida went for the armbar and you knew he was going for a ride. When I saw him going up, a shiver went down my spine. So sad it didn't follow through.

I thought it was pretty awesome that Machida just let go and dropped to his feet which is what a good jiujitsuan is supposed to do when lifted up like that. Then not only does he drop to his feet but he hits Rampage with a hook while he's at it. Rampage so got a gift in that fight.

Did he ****. Machida did nothing in the first two rounds and didn't do enough to get a 10-8 in the third, and even if he did it would be a draw.

The only gift Page got was Machida's punch/flinch/clinch/scarper tactics in the 1st 2 rounds imo

Machida lost himself that fight. They had 3 battles, Rampage won 2 thus he won the war.

I missed this fight, opinions seem split so that tells me it coulda been anyone`s fight which = no robbery.

I`d have to see it & judge for myself tho & youtube takes forever to be allowed to show these fights in full these days, no doubt the work of that fat *** dana white.

I have argued this with many people. first of all i am a retired high school wrestling coach and i was a former PKA participant. my son who wrestled in college and who also coaches wrestling watched it together he thought that The first round was close but rampage should get the nod because he pushed the action I gasve it to machida because machida forced rampage to come to him and got leg kicked and hit and was never able to do anything even though he was the aggressor. Which i think that a grappler should have to do something if he is going to be aggressive. In a grapplers mine if you stall or run away from the action you lose points. I will also add that Willie Pep once one a round with out throwing a punch. In striking it is about hitting and not getting hit. If a grappler tries for the takedown or control and he gets hit and is not successfull he should lose that exchange. if a fight is not judged that way than the sport always favors the grappler

First fight that I know of where a fighter loses every single category (significant strikes landed/takedowns/submission attempts/superior position/strikes landed) and yet still won the fight. Good job Rampage, you moved forward. That's a fight winner for sure.

Neither man did much in the first two rounds but I'd say Machida clearly did more in the first, personally I'd give him the second aswell based on thsoe knees to the body given that Rampages takedown lasted mere seconds and achieved nothing.

While not quite as bad as Shogun/Machida 1 it was still a poor decision in which the fighter whioc learly came off second best "won".

Except he didn't. I've not seen one discussion about Machida/Jackson that hasn't been relatively evenly split. Whereas with the exception of Sherdog's pbp people and the judges I cannot remember anyone who thought Machida won at UFC 104.

How about Rampage did nothing the first two rounds while Machida landed leg kicks and knees to the body. Then Machida pwned him the entire third round.

Rampage achieved absolutely nothing whatsoever in that fight at any point. It's purely peoples' affection for him that even makes this a debate. It was a clear, clear Machida win.
