    I was astounded to find out that one of my favourite movie characters aka "Sailor" from the 1983 Movie Uncommon Valor also starring Swayze and Hackmann, was actually a pro boxer who once fought Larry Holmes for the world title and also had notable wins over heavyweights of his era such as Bernardo Mercado, Earnie Shavers, and Leon Spinks.

    He was one of the most quotable boxers ever. He has a very sharp wit.

    Cobb's greatest "victory" in boxing was making Howard Cosell quit announcing boxing matches. As a note, Cobb had the cartilage removed from his nose, and put on ice, at the surgeons office, and had it put back in his nose once he retired from boxing.

    Uncommon Valor was a cool movie.

    Cobb led a colorful life, that's for sure.
