This isn't something you would have to do in any other division because of weight limits. But sometimes in the HW division you have to concede that a fighter wins just by being bigger than the other man. So my question is this, ranking purely on a p4p skill system who would be your top 10 HW fighters. Not ranking h2h but ranking p4p skill levels. To qualify for the list someone has to have competed at HW for a significant period of time at the top level. So you can't have Jones JR but you could have Charles for example. I'll post mine once I've seen a few lists.
Holyfield looks very good in this scenario. A complete fighter that only lost to a much bigger man in his prime. Tyson was probably the best at overcoming disadvantages in height and reach, due a large part to his skill. Patterson? A very skilled operator, only truly bested by two ATGs (Liston and Ali) that both had great size advantages.
Yeah I can't make my mind up on Tyson. Holy is definitely one of the best ever HW fighters in my mind.
Hw's get a terrible rating P$P but generally they control a weight division with decent numbers, from 190 to 260 pounds, 14 weight divisions if you like. Within that Ali, Holy, Lweis, Tyson, Tunney must rate high.
