Should short heavyweights be ranked more favourably? I ask as in my mind it is easier to be a heavyweight if you are bigger than your opponents. Obviously it cannot be the defining factor, and you also need to place them in context of their era etc. But should Tyson and Frazier for example be seen as more accomplished or higher ranked than say Wlad or Lewis for example?
I don't think so. If you start that, it will go in every direction. Should successful light punching HWs be rated higher than those with solid punches? Should clumsy fighters, like Marciano, be rated higher that agile fighters, like Ali?
P4p, absolutely. There becomes a point when a HW wins because he's too big, not because he's better. But in a HW h2h match, I go off a given result in my minds eye.
