I'm having trouble rating El Clen's power. Is his power thudding? Sharp? Both? His speed and explosiveness makes it look like his shots are deadly nukes, but Hermell Sharlo wasn't tooken out nor was Ryder and others. However, he shattered BJ's eye.
Canelo is like Iron Mike. Both have average power, but the bulk of that power isn’t from strength. It’s from top tier technique & explosiveness and their compact size helps them build up power easier/quicker.
I'd say 8. With the right punch he can sleep anybody. But lately he has not been picking his shots as well.
No problem with a 7 or 8 rating. No he didn’t knock out or break hermell sharlow (failed to engage - ran & hugged for dear life) Couldn’t KO Ryder - however he did bust him up & horribly disfigured him. but then again no one has KO Ryder for a while now. only rocky fielding was able to accomplish that for some odd reason. Kind of like Paquiao getting KO earlier in his career by some no namer. I think his lack of KOs lately has more to do with his shorter strides versus taller opponents Harder to cut off the ring for this seasoned but much older Canelo.
He's a solid 7, he can get you outta there unless you're a sturdy guy. It's actually increased from his time at 154, 160 etc.....probably age
7 or 8 The problem with that is 7 is too close to 5 and 8 is too close to 10 7 sounds like he doesn't hit that hard Are Inoue, Beterbiev, The Dosser really 10 or are they 9 to 9.5? If they're 9 he's not an 8 He's powerfully built and his shots are thumping and heavy and he throws them with bad intentions. He's broken bones numerous times but the only really devastating KO he's scored in recent times is Kovalev who was well past his prime and his chin was gone He's definitely a big puncher
7/10 In terms of raw power he's not a genuinely big puncher. He's not a guy that can hurt you with a glancing or half blocked shots. Where he excels is the set up and delivery. He's a counter puncher that knows how to set up his shots and his timing is superb. So he can catch you with shots you don't expect and are not prepared to take.
