Rate Hasim Rahman.

Indiscipline in training as well; not only is neglecting your altitude conditioning going to affect your stamina in a fight, but when your brain is reeling from a concussive blow like a knockdown then the most important thing is getting in as much quality oxygen to it as possible.

Lewis, already puffing as early as the conclusion to round 2, was not going to be getting in that quality oxygen.

Steward admitted recently that he completely disregarded Rahman as a danger as well and didn't push in training. Lack of focus all round there, on the wrong night to do it.

Last note, and it's an old one, but Rahman can be considered unlucky not to have at least one and possibly two wins against Tua. The after-the-bell shot and lack of referee discretion cost him in the first, just plain bad judging in the second.

 

A medicrity..should have never been champion, had Lewis taken every one of his fights as seriously as he should have.

 

Handled Tua with ease

Tua was ****ing him up by the middle rounds, he was starting to come on, Rahman was beginning to get worn down and although it was a BS stoppage Rahman would have struggled to stay ahead or even upright after 12 rounds
Tua then was all about coming home down the back straight, lots of fighters had early success with the jab, Rahman more than most.
Rahman was an average boxer who gave us some all-time highlight reel knockouts at the hands of Maskaev and Lewis

 

For an average boxer, he sure did win a lot of fights.

Maybe we just have different definitions of average.

What did you think of Rahman-Tua II?

 

Well he was better than average and had real heavy hands, people who bag Tua have to remember its the other guy thats supposed to have all the advantages of reach, skill and strength so **** knows how this 5'9 Samoan does it? Hes bowled over everyone and never been hurt, his record is unmatched for a contender.

If Rahman wasnt such a **** sometimes (like before Lewis II and Tua II) and trying to be ghetto when he was from a good middle class family, Id have more sympathy for how he got robbed in the first fight.
He was tiring but I think he may have made it to the final bell but it would have been a close fight by then, and Tua for those two years was famous for scoring the late knockout. He did it to Maskaev and Izon and may have found it for Rahman too.

Rahman vs Tua II is fairly irrelevant for me as both were fat and Tua's fighting style had completely changed from what made his name as "the new Frazier", a draw was a fair result. Rahman certainly didnt dominate the fight and he does have a great style to hang with Tua.

They might even meet again as both are making comebacks but it would be a fairly **** fight.
