That's about right, but I'd say his power is average, and his speed is good.

I think, like Floyd, Bernard's power is enhanced due to the accuracy and timing of his punches. And yep, maybe his speed could be notched up to 'good'. Against Pavlik, Tarver, Tito etc, he definately wasn't a slouch.

Hopkins in terms of todays fighters is a A+.
    My breakdown.

Defense: Excellent. Legs move, hands parry, punches get slipped. Not beautiful, but completely effective.
Counter- Punches: That counter/lead right hand was Hopkins best one punch weapon and it started the fall of many of his opponents. He also possess a great counter jab. His countering skill would not hold up against a fight like Hagler or fighters of that ilk, but his counter was good.

Power: Solid power in the early prime of his career. Good at his most classic form. Nothing to fear, but deffinately respectible.
Jab: A+ jab. He threw it at the right time and it usually landed more than not. He would have been a better fighter his he used it more.

Speed: Good middle weight hand speed.
Ring Generalship: He was always the boss in the ring in his classic form, even if he was being "hunted". He was a cute/clever as the come.

Fients: Without question a near master at fienting. Not as subtle, but was effective.
Footwork: the best part of his game in my oppinion. Knew the ring and made the most out of it. He used his feet to out position his opponent, while using his menacing glare to trick fighters into following him.

Body Punches: Good. I usually like my bodypunches in bunches. He did not DIG. He touched and moved on. I say that he was not a bad body puncher, but he was not a great skilled infighter either. He was tough and did what it took in the inside. I know he finished Oscar with a bodyshot, but I think that was contrary to the real Hopkins on the inside. I am willing to hear an argument however.
