You are right, my bad. I reversed it.

I scored it 9-2 prior to the 12th. Even if that round had been a 10-7, I'd have had Kholmatov winning 115-111.

It's rarely called. Probably could've been called when ford's jab sent him hard into the ropes prior to the slip call

That said dude staggered across the ring had his back turn and was getting hit. He didn't give the ref much choice. Should have taken the knee

Standing knockdowns with the ropes holding a guy up are rarely called. Kind of like a 10-10 round or a 10-8 no knockdown round

All I'm saying is the guys back was turned after being staggered and defenseless hardly a bad call at that point. Maybe the ref could have counted but he didn't

People are pretending like this is some crazy call and I just don't see it that way.

You are a good poster you make good points we just disagree no biggie

There was only one legitimate KD in the fight, and the ref didn't call it. It was before Ford threw Kholmatov to the canvas. The ropes held Kholmatov up.

The only thing the ropes did when Kholmatov was running was keep him from running off the ring. Yes he was hurt, and yes he was stumbling, but he was not falling down.

    Good call on the ref.

@chacal , I'm trying to understand your point. Correct me if I'm missing something but from my understanding of the ABC rules there's no standing 8 count in title fights and no fighter can be saved by the bell in any round including the last and final round.

That maybe you should watch and pay attention to a fight before taking such a strong stance on one side or the other on some controversy.

Ropes held him up, so it was a knockdown.

    Watch it again.

Ford hurts him bad with the right hook. He follows up and drops him with his jab, but the ropes made him bounce into Ford and Ford gets him off him by throwing him to the canvas.

Ford goes on the attack, and Kholmatov starts running looking back over his shoulder. He stops running because he ran into the ropes. He didn't fall into the ropes like in the first KD, he ran into the ropes.

At that point the ref had no choice but to stop it since he was incapable of defending himself, was badly hurt, and had turned his back on Ford.

I know most had him losing but I thought Ford was landing some really sharp punches throughout the fight. I didn’t think the stoppage was bad either. I like Kholmatov but he was reacting horribly to every single clean shot. All that bungling around the ring was a testament to how hurt he was. One more punch could’ve had him out cold.

I was referring to some previous post from @chacal that there was only 7 seconds left so if Kholmatov was given a standing 8 count he would have won. Im saying according to ABC rules neither were possible.

So what did you expect Steele to do, ask Taylor if he was okay for the THIRD time?

I kind of think it's a stretch to even say that Kholmatov was held up by the ropes. He was just galloping. He probably could've gone another twenty or thirty feet before either falling on his face or finding his legs if it were out in the open.
