Which fights did Floyd do this in? Did you even see him at his natural weight classes? Even against Oscar he stood there to be hit, the fact that he was able to slip so many shots is a testament to his ability, at no point did he run. This is old news.

You are polarizing boxing. You have created two seperate categories to place boxers into: fighters such as Floyd and those who engage in "the cowboy slugfest style of boxing". This is exactly my point with you Floyd fans, you see the world of boxing styles in black and white and miss the shades of gray. The Woo made a great point about slick fighters who are also aggresive offensively. Its not as though being slick and defensive is exclusive to also being offensive.

About your comment as to white and black... whatever. Malinagli is slick and defensive and I dont see people line up to see him.

What is it with Floyd fans. If your house is not full of Floyd posters, you either dont understand the game or your racist. Utter, utter, utter bull****.

I agree he didnt do it at lower weight classes. I also never used the word "run".

But Im sorry, Im not going to placate Floyd fans and tell you that I see a fighter in Floyd these days which comes to dominate fighters as he did in those lower classes. Look at his fight against Chico, a masterpiece, and compare it to his fights against Baldomir and De La Hoya. He doesnt come to close the show these days, or even to go out of his way to dominate. He comes to win decisive decisions, and thats ok. Im just saying that not everyone has to love that stlyle of fighting. Nothing more and nothing less.

Malignaggi is not much of a defensive fighter. Even N'Dou was getting in some good shots on him.

    1. So you had Oscar winning the fight?

    2. Heh, we'll see. Southpaws don't do so well with him.

He shut Baldomir out. He beat Oscar clear cut, though one judge couldn't see the ring from where he was sitting, apparently.

Also, I imagine it's difficult jumping that high in weight and trying to perform at the same level in terms of power as you did at lower weights. Weight is the issue with his power and inability to knock out people like Baldomir.

He was still open to be hit from taller counter punchers, like Lewis or Wlad Klitschko.

I'd take them both by knockout also.

He is slicker than Pavlik, or Hatton. So he is a relatively slick white dude, and I dont see posters annointing him as the next great fighter, as Illstate illuded to.

I actually thought he fought De La Hoya similarly to the way he fought Chico. The difference was that Floyd didn't have a massive weight disadvantage against Chico, and Chico doesn't have DLH's chin and defense. This afforded Floyd the opportunity to be more aggresive later in the fight against Chico than he was against DLH.

He wasn't. He won via shutout.
