Any recommendations on a good pair of 16oz gloves for general bag work, sparring etc, an all-in-one if you will. Money is an issue. I'm particularly fond of Everlast. So if you could suggest a decently priced pair, or any other brands will do also. Links are most welcome. Thanx in advance.
I haven't started sparring yet, but they use 16's, but i will soon, i want to get a collection of gloves, but money is a problem, the gloves i use now are falling apart. So i can't get different gloves for sparring and bags
Get a pair of 16oz sparring gloves, and try to quickly save up enough to get a pair of bag gloves. Go donate plasma twice in a week, bang 60 bucks right there, new pair of bag gloves. Reason being that you need to break the sparring gloves in, but not so much that they stop being useful. A week on the bags should be way more than enough, and then get those other gloves. For sparring, I like Lonsdale, Fighting, Ringside IMF, etc as mid-price gloves (60-80 bucks). For bags, I've heard nothing but good things about Grant Campeon (they'll be the next ones I buy). Ringside IMF are good as well.
Yeah thnx for your answer. I've never heard of Ringside IMF, Fighting, or know much about Grant Campeon either. But i'll check em out, then try and find good prices for them.
Why not? :huh Doesn't it make more sense to use the same or larger size glove on the bag than you plan to use in a fight?
Ringside IMF Tech both sparring and bag gloves are amazing. They will probably "funk out" before they wear out. If money is the issue? Ringside is rock solid.
I have a pair of Ringside 14oz XL's that I use on the bag. They feel bigger, slower but more well padded than the 16oz Everlast I use for sparring.
