Awful job by the ref all i have to say is Broner should pay him for protecting his ass in there tonight. What a disgrace.

Agreed. Kept warning Broner but didn't take a point away and actually didn't even bother to warn him any more later. That headbutt was nothing, didn't deserve a deduction, it did 0 damage. The punch after the bell by Broner was worse and also intentional.

Laurence Cole has made some very questionable calls in the past, so this is really nothing new.

terrible refereeing, broner had how many warnings for forearms and pushing? then did it for 8 rounds straight and got no point deductions. i think he could have easily been deducted a couple of points.

He was already paid (most likely)

Broner was being groomed to be the next PPV star and money talks

The illegal punch after the bell in round 11 was the only punch that even hurt Maidana at all, yet Cole did not even warn Broner when he should have taken a point away...............Lawrence Cole has had other biased fights over the years..............

Turnabout is fair play. Marcos should of returned the favour and gave Broner a few elbows of his own

Ricky Hatton got blasted by a low blow by Tszyu. As soon as the action resumed Hatton walked across the ring and first punch a thunderous low blow.

IMO the promotion of this fight was set up to get Broner in a PPV. The guy was creating buzz and its gonna take a while to get crowds to believe he is "changed" and is indeed the real deal.

The constant and blatant pushing, the intentional punch after the bell and the amateur dramatics should all have yielded point deductions. It did seem like the referee was trying to help Broner but the legitimate in-ring action was too decisive.
