Just reading an article with degale on the allegedly website. It seems he has a lot of respect for smith and vice versa. I personally have enjoyed smith having a bit of needle going in to his last couple if fights. Is this respect healthy or not? Does there need to be a little bit of edge to help build your opponent into an enemy in your mind? Just interested in opinions really for this fight and any previous examples like Moore v Rhodes etc

Smith will eventually open his mouth. He cannot help himself.

    Yeah, I missed ringside.
The thing is,I think fighters can gain respect in the ring, but Is it healthy to have it in abundance before the fight? I'm not sure it helps

degale came across really well on ringside, where he said for stephen smith to forget friendship and just cheer for his bro, altho he'd probly do that anyway. i think degale can make smith look good in this fight, wont be much spoiling going on

Not sure about them both trying too hard, I think they genuinely got caught in the school yard mentality of who was harder. Trying to hard suggests it was all a bit staged for the camaras. While there may have been a bit of that, I think for the most part it was them both sticking their chests out trying to be **** of the school.
