Ricardo Mayorga Appreciation Thread.

Yeah the guy is a legend,what he has done is HOF material.He will forever be remembered for destroying Six Heads Lewis,KOing Forrest when everybody said he couldn't,smoking in the ring,all his crazy pressers but the fight that I remember him the most is the Trinidad fight altough he lost it was a epic fight,one of the best MW fights ever,the guy showed a lot of heart and a great chin,I'd like to see anybody else do that against a puncher like Trinidad.El Matador Mayorga

 

It'll be a sad day when El Matador has to retire. I think we'll all miss his wild ass barbarian punches, crazy press conference antics, ridiculous quotes and truly entertaining fights.

Gotta love him.

 

Thanks for the link to the Yorg and Mosely. He's just hilarious. You can see that the dude really means no harm by his comments and is just tryin' to promote the fight.

After Mosely retires him, he should pick up some broken English and try to get somebody in Hollywood to start putting him in movies. With his attitude and seeing him in that suit and shades w/a smoke danglin' makes me think he'd make a great movie hitman or druglord or something...

I've really enjoyed all of his fights that I've seen and while I'm not sure he's a HoFer, I very much agree that his destruction at the hands of Tito was one of the greatest displays of 'macho' I've ever seen!

Ricardos the man..One of my favorites..Shows up to every boxing match expecting a war..I hope he retires an enjoys and saves all that paper hes made.

i've been a fan of the guy since i saw him on the undercard of some rjj fight. mayorga's not the most skilled guy out there, but he sure as hell is the most entertaining. his wild ass brawling style, trash talking, taunting and posturing is hilarious. giving vernon and trinidad free shots at his chin were some of the most bad ass (and stupidest) things i've seen a fighter do. his presscons alone are worth the price of admission. class me as a mayorga nut hugger, i'm gonna miss the guy when he retires. probably HBO could give him some sort of gig after he retires.

One of my favorite fighters of ALL TIME! I still get goose bumps everytime I see this vid and that Trinidad free-punch!! One of toughest, most entertaining, care-free boxers ever!!
