Overatted in MMA. Whats he done in MMA to be ranked so highly by so many ? Royce and Renzo have accomplished a million times what he has and noboddy talks about them.

Old bag must be going senile. He thinks he can beat everyone in the game today.

He stopped fighting in the MMA when the sport started improving and the talent became more solidated - he didn't hang around long enough to lose a few times and slap a dent in the aura that surrounds him. Plus, he fought back in the day where legend resides more freely.

Most of all, he's a Gracie and to a LOT of people, that creates the idea that it's improper to do anything but praise and laud the reputation that exists around them.

Frank Shamrock, Bas, Saku would have beaten him even back then

I remember reading the playboy(I think) interview with him. It questioned him whether he had any desire to fight in the UFC and he said no because he thought they were inferior fighters to Pride fighter, when questioned he just said he "saw alot of holes in their game" Maybe so, but the likes of Kerr, Coleman, F Shamrock, K Shamrock, Rutten, Ruas, Smith and Randleman were far superior to Takada, Funaki and......and.....and....errrrr...yeah.

Well Funaki back then was a good fighter beating Ken,Bas ETC. But besides that Rickson has 1 notable fighter on his resume is Takada whos only win was vs Coleman which sounds good but we know that was just a WWF match that went down in the MMA record books. **** Rickson and his fans hes always came of a dick the biggest one in the Gracie family which is saying alot cause there are some arogant guys in that family. Agian he hasnt accomplished a 3rd of what Renzo or Royce have inside MMA yet to here Sherdog and him talk hes the greatest thing to ever grace a MMA ring.

No no no, alot of people on Sherdog no longer think that and believe him to be a bit of a myth. (Not in a good way)

Ask Renzo if he feels he could have ever taken him. Ask Royce the same question. They know better than to answer yes

Rickson is/was better than Royce ever was. If not for a family dispute, Rickson would have represented the family in the first few UFCs. It would not have been as good for BJJ. Rickson is not a big man, but he looks like a fighter. Royce did not. It was unbelievable to watch someone that looked like Royce win those events. Rickson would have won more easily, and also look more the part. BJJ would not be credited as much as the fighter was.

Rickson does not have as big of an MMA record as many others do, but that is not entirely his fault. Many of the Japanese wanted a victory over Rickson in order to reclaim what many felt was rightfully theirs; the art of Ju Jitsu. Rickson was matched with Japenese fighters in hopes of his first defeat coming to one of their own.

As evidenced by the first few UFC's, the best mma fighters in the world at that time came from Brazil. Royce, who is not even close to being good in his family, won 3 out of 4. Rickson had long proven himself to be the best in Brazil long before then.

Rickson is nearly 50 years old now, and has no way of proving his previous worth as a fighter. It is true that he has become mythical, but no one was able to do defeat him in his previous matches. You can't rank him with current mma fighters, because he fought at a different time. You can't just cast him aside either. He accomplished way too much in his youth. He is mythical for a reason.

If Renzo had so much success against Frank Shamrock, I don't see why it's unreasonable to think Rickson would.
