I know that people will say that Burns should be doing more to make fights happen, but I feel quite sorry for him. He's a decent, honest lad and he probably wants to repay Frank for everything he's done for him. However, the penny has to drop at some point. Whilst Frank took him to a world title, he's also responsible for huge disappointments in the past 6 months, which might sadly define Burns' career if it carries on. I like Burns a lot but he should be doing everything possible to get out of his contract with Frank. If he stays loyal, there'll only be more disappointment in the future, with more and more letdowns and the truth is, he deserves better. He deserves to be in good fights against the likes of DeMarco, Vazquez, Broner and getting those big paydays, not squandering his prime because of bull**** like what has happened in the past 3 weeks.

Frank did a good job with Burns. However, for Burns to start making good money and get those fights he should be in, he needs to move on. Staying with Frank will only result in more stagnation and Burns deserves better than that.

Really hope Ricky leaves him soon, he could go stale and he is missing his opportunities for the big fights.

Burns has a family to provide for and a legacy to build, Frank is clearly holding him back.

    I say go to Matchroom.

I am a huge fan of Ricky Burns and have alot of respect for him but it seems like this period in his career is a watershed moment. At the end of the day while ****** has done an OK job with his career to date, as a professional fighter he has to look out for himself and his family and look at going elsewhere.

Fish Eyes isn't the man he was and to be quite frank he isn't taking Ricky to where he needs to go to earn back the respect of the boxing community. There's only so many times you can keep blaming the promoter.

I have no doubt if he went somewhere like Matchroom then he would legitimately be fighting guys like Vasquez and Eddie Hearn has proved before that he can make big fights so I would imagine the Broner fight would also be secured. Ricky is not a world beater by any means but with decent opponents then I have no doubt he could regularly sell out the new 10k+ Hydro Arena in Glasgow every fight.

He sold loads of tickets vs mitchell in Glasgow...why isn't he fighting up here again? Then surely they could sell a decent show in london and glasgow...or can he not sellout a show in london without Ricky?

    "5 weeks"

Everyone on HBO saying they priced themselves out.

Unless Team Burns start being realistic, they will cause their own downfall to. Just as much as Frank.

They need to realize at this moment in time, who is Ricky Burns? If he goes over and does the job like he says he and Billy Nelson says, and wins the fight, then MAYBE just MAYBE they can drive a higher price and be worth more afterwards.

Like Tony Thompson. Make a statement.

What will be Burn's excuse now that he is free of the Vasquez bout and Broner daring him to fight on his June date?

Ricky is the perfect guy to get GBP's plans for Britain off the ground.

Ricky will never leave Frank. Franks got Billy a lifetime pass at all Scottish fast food outlets.
