How would you rate his chin?

For an elite HW he had one of the best ever. He was the perfect HW.

    Largely untested.

Missed fighting Lewis, Tyson, Foreman, Mercer, McCall, Morrison, Bruno, Ruddock, Moorer....basically all of the best and biggest punchers at heavyweight in the 90’s.

Was floored and badly hurt by Holyfield (smaller and hadn’t scored a KO in years at that point) and the moderate punching Golota along with being stunned by the much smaller Hide.

Clearly it wasn’t glass but definitely not as proven as the aforementioned posts are suggesting.

Very tough chin, much to his own detriment as he loved a good brawl.

Well, Bowe does not have a glass jaw .
In my opinion, his whiskers belongs in the lower end of the top 15 of all time.
In other words, a borderline great chin, but not among the top 10 elite. He kissed the canvas in his fight against a sick holyfield (even a prime evander was not a sledghammer puncher....yes he could bang, but he was not shavers or foreman) and golota.
But it certainly was better than a B Level chin.

Untested. Unknown. We can't really address it. His chin, and his power weren't tested really against elite punches or elite jaws.

He was past his best by the time of the 3rd Holyfield fight and completely shot against Golota. Maybe Bowe's chin was too good, so much confidence in his ability to take a punch meant he didn't concern himself with minor details like defence.
It was bad habits outside of the ring and all the unnecessary punches Riddick took early in his career that caused him to burn out quick, a shot fighter by the age of 29.

Damn good. He was a big man who could take hard shots to the head point blank range

but like all others, wore down over the years

when I last saw him vs Golata, he could barely defend himself

I know one thing; it was better than Tommy Morrison's

Golota was frustrated that he couldn't put Bowe away and resorted to low blows which points to his chin being somewhere around Homer Simpsons, both take punishment until their opponents just give up. His chin was great.

    Chin I would give a 7 or 7.5

But heart he gets a solid 10.

Combine the two and you see why he was never stopped. EVER

No mate. It was better than Bruno's for example. Tommy Morrison had a decent chin, he was just hit harder and more often

Not sure about that. Morrison spent a lot more time on the floor against Lewis than Bruno did and Frank has no KOby1 vs Michael Bentt on his ledger.

I was a big Bowe fan (and Holyfield) back in the day.

I think he had a great chin. He took to many good shots really.

His career was a classic burn bright, burn fast one.

Big shame about his personal demeanor now because of all the wear and tear of hard shots he took.

That can be a downside of having a good chin I guess.
