Dino Duva said it's a "severe contusion [bruise]" on Rigo's left hand.

Rigondeaux is embarrassed. Should have just ate a combo and went to sleep.

There really wouldn't have been anything embarrassing about that though. 37 year old guy moves up in weight to fight arguably the best fighter in the sport right now. Eats some leather and goes down. Call it a day with your reputation in tact.

But Rigo's dirty tactics, quit job with all his faculties still in order and then the broken hand lie. LOL.

This is the worse "take their soul" moment in boxing since MAB Hamed.

All this jackass Rigo had to do was stop clinching, gather his nuts, fight back and take that ass kicking. And he would have been praised.

I would have been shocked if his hand WAS broken. Rigo barely threw punches the whole fight, much less land a significant punch.

A dive would have been more honorable.

Loma's opponents always quit BEFORE they are injured or badly hurt. It may be bad for boxing fans, but it's good for their health

We can be pissed about an anticlimactic fight, but in hindsight I don't fault boxers if they sustain an injury. Rigo sustained a contusion. They don't feel very good. He was obviously discouraged, and without the left he had nothing he could keep Loma honest with. Call it quitting, call it smart. Loma wouldn't have KO'd Rigs, Rigs defense was too good, but there is no need to go on and take more shots if you have it set in your mind that you can't use your left hand anymore. Should Brook have continued against Golovkin or Spence? At least there was an actual injury, and not a Roberto Duran type thing. NFL players miss games when they have contusions, and for all the other guys have continued with hurt hands, other guys weren't fighting a pound for pound top three guy, two weight classes up from their natural weight class at 37 years old.

Don't dare compare GGG Brook to Rigo Loma. That's not even close to a fair comparison. They both moved up in weight to fight the man in that division. But GGG is a ****ing heavy handed puncher. Classic old school, slow hand thudding power that shakes your body to it's core. The sheer power he generates is nothing to joke about or be easy on which is the corner stopped the fight. GGG was beating up on a smaller man and putting his life in danger. If he had continued Brook may have been permanently injured, he already was, his eye will never be the same. But if the fight had continued for another 7 he rounds he may have died.

By the way Brook deserves way more praise than GGG did in their fight. Golovkin just did what a massive puncher should do to a much smaller man. The way Brook stood his ground, fought and tried to win is nothing compared to what Rigo did.

Rigo moved up to a fight light hitter, but quit with all his faculties in order because he didn't like looking bad on National TV. And by the way if he had opened up he would have been tagged and possibly even taken out even if Loma is a light hitter.

Hand injury my ass. My hand has a bruise on it, whaaaaa. This is boxing, at some point you're gonna have to get tough when you don't fight cans or tiny Flyweights.
