Especially when Holyfield got robbed against Valuev after doing more than Haye. Haye's corner didn't panic through the Valuev fight though, and at the bell they celebrated as if they knew they'd get the decision. In Germany. On a Sauerland bill. Strange that.

 

The real problem is Haye lack of volume on his tactic fighting taller men.

Look at Gurov, Valuev, Harrison....I believe thats the only 3 men taller than Haye that he has ever fought.......and all 3 he has adopted a low volume output.

I call it power pot shots...he baits the taller fighters with his head slightly forward they attempt to jab...he either moves his head back or left throws the hook or right and throws a big right hand.

Haye tends to box, throw the jab more when fighting shorter men...against taller his punch output is a lot lower which is where he will come unstuck.


Wladimir game plan we all know, set the jab as his defensive shield, and when a fighter gets into to close, he clinches. If a fighter is in mid range and throws a shot...he sticks his left hand out, with his face beside his shoulder protecting it whilst moving backwards and somtimes a slight angle.

Wlad jab is constant, he also keep it out mid range...early on in the fight....both he and Haye without a DOUBT will be playing chess....Wlad jabs early on wont be accurate enough to catch Haye speed of foot nor reflexes when moving his head...or as i call it bait head.

Their will be moments when Haye springs with big left hooks or right hands but becuase Wlad early on is so defensive and in a sense behind his armour wall...i.e clinch...then i just dont see Haye getting through enough times.

As the fight goes on, that jab which caught haye only a few times will start to plant on his face, along with the clinches...the right hands will start to fire out and Haye for me will be stopped by the 9th round.

 

Yeah Holyfield won that fight against Valuev....this in fact change all my thinking on Haye.


Ive watched Haye since his amatuer days and told everyone he would world heavyweight champion.

That tiger, that beast...was still their in 2008...it went after the Macca fight, his sheer talent, incredible natural speed and power along with a top thinker in Booth has got him bye in the last few years.

He boxed well with Barrett then got sloppy and lazy even letting Barret fall on top of Haye....like Ruiz did at parts.

His fight against Valuev should have been a stoppage win for Haye...think how much speed and power he has...but he didnt perform he did just enough to win.

As teddy atlas calls it ' the silent contract'

Then again fights Ruiz...talent shows early on he take ruiz down several times...but yet again the fight lingers on far too long....Harrison fight...he took far to long to unleash his abilty on a fighter not even in the top 25.

Another problem....the quality of fighter Wlad has taken in the last 3 years is far greater thand Haye..

Wlad has 5 top tens, Haye has 2 top ten heavies...Chagev beat Ruiz and Valuev...i also believe ibragimov and chambers are better than anything haye has beaten.

So it just history, and how both men have fought similar opposition that leads me to think Wlad will win.

Would love to be wrong....but ive been pretty close on all of Haye results in the past...especially the last few yrs.

I thought Barry McGuigan came across very well in the episode.

 

I was being nice, both Ruiz and Valuev had seen better days without a doubt...ive seen the performances with my own eyes...and still Ruiz was always what i called a hungry big will to win fighter without talent.

Ruiz made a carrer of taking advantage over more talented fighters...

Thing is ....Haye should have done better than he has done which is my main gripe...he is on the level of Ibragimov and Byrd in terms of pure talent AND he has major power which the other two dont have.

 

No, he hasn't.

He's in great shape.

 

Now everyone must bow down to my predications...ok im messing but seriously i was bang on points with this fight.

The only major fight in the last two years ive got wrong was B. Hopkins win over Pascal.

Mate.. it wasn't a hard fight to call. In fact, it was one of the easiest of recent weeks. The only surprising thing is quite a few people who's opinions I normally respect called it completely wrong. But I guess that was more in hope than any real kind of logic.

And calling Haye's fights over the last few years.. so you thought he'd beat Ruiz and Audley? Wow.. someone get this guy a trophy.

 

Im bang on all points, only thing i didnt think was that Haye would be too scared to get involved.

You were the kid that was always picked last in all sports weren't you?. Even Teacher would send you inside to get some paper so you'd miss most of the game.

 

Only question us peasants have now is how much money did you make from the fight then?

 

Madana, i ***** slap you in front of your mom. You would even **** with me, if you met me........I also met Booth on the day of the fight....1pm near the main station.

He was with M. Al Turk and J. Thompson....Thompson is huge.

Haye was asleep accoring to Booth....Adam was very nice..and answered all my questions with a smile...top guy.


Also Ive watched Haye since his fight with Solis...at the time I thought he looked brilliant...and when he took out T. Booth on his debut i was like wow.


David is a good fighter BUT he stalled...and stayed the same from 2008 onwards....whilst Wlad improved.

Wlad around 2008 was incredibly hesitant...looked awful against a sitting duck in Rahman.

So I think without a doubt Haye could be one reason an improved Wlad started to look top doller with stellar performances against Chagaev (could be the best ive seen him) and Chambers.


Also one to watch out for is Robert Helenius, he can take a good punch....but is not body beautiful so wont get much hype...he is the one man (one year from now) that could dethroen the Klits....but only if both brothers regress..and Wlad is looking good.

Vitali though has slowed down hugely...he will beat Adamek....but without doubt Vitali should retire or he will lose in the nest year.
