Rios PRIDE OF OXNARD VS KHAN PRIDE OF P A K I S T A N Who wins know, based on recent performances?? Would be a war no doubt. I can see it going like GARCIA/KHAN. Amir will be outboxing Rios, busting him up with combos, but never hurting Rios. Rios will.keep on coming, & pressure busts pipes, I see Rios KOing Khan late.
I'd favor Khan. Rios would take a lot of punishment anytime he'd come forward, and as long as Khan maintains range, he'd keep Rios off balance coming forward and unable to set himself to punch. Rios' power and pressure fighting tactics make it competitive and it's winnable, but I see Khan's blitzing fast combination punching as too taxing for Rios.
Khan dominates him on the outside Could turn into a masterclass performance Khan might cut him Khan doesn't allow him to do any inside work The overhand right is Khan's biggest threat After 8 rounds Rios is no longer a threat I rate Maidana higher than Rios. He actually throws on the outside. Alvarado would probably give Khan more trouble with that right hand of his. Rios will find out very fast if he starts fighting the top 140 guys that he is in the sport of BOXING Only people I truly worry Khan getting KO'd by are Lucas, 147 Maidana and Left hook Garcia
It would be fun watching him essentially beat on a heavy bag for 4 rounds... But then it would get boring.
Khan either batters him to a pulp for 12 rounds or until it's stopped or Rios ko's khan early to mid.Which one happens is unknown.
"Can Khan keep Rios off him for 12 rounds?" is the operative question. I think Khan builds up a decent points lead, eventually slows a bit due to some body work and pressure, and gets into a couple of exchanges. A solid jab or looping right hand by Rios and Khan is doing the chicken dance again. Khan has too much pride to dance for 12 rounds.
People forget Khan has decent power. Rios would take combinations all night trying to get to the inside.
