RIP They trained one of the best fighters who ever lived and you could tell how close Marvin was to both of them.

Marvin was loyal. And clearly, he had reasons to be.

I trained under Goody back in 2006-2008 at Petronelli's gym. Honestly one of the greatest guys I know...he worked with me and guided me when I was a no name rookie. Always wrapped my hands everyday because I had no clue how too. RIP :( He made me train harder and like the sport better because he cared so much about every guy that walked in his gym. He was a legend.

Goody was the one who told Marvin to come out swinging with Hearns since Hearns was going to come out swinging, he said you come out swinging with him.

I remember a story I read about the Petronellis that put them in a very good light in my eyes, at least..........

In the early, hungrier days of Hagler's career, the would-be champion had a day job working for the Petronelli brother's construction company, doing manual labor. They would sometimes go to lunch with him, and being an independent and proud soul, Hagler would pull out his wallet when it came time to pay for lunch.

"Save it," the Petronellis would say, taking the check themselves...."one day, you'll buy us lunch."
