There is an article on the setanta site with quotes from Freddie Roach in which he claims that he has been asked to train Khan and that he will be meeting with Khan and his team later this month.

I've always liked Roach, he has experience training a wide range of fighters including Tyson, De La Hoya, Pacman, Toney, Mooerer, Vasquez etc... I think he would be good for Khan. Certainly a lot better than some of the other options, it would probably have been a disaster if he had stayed with Powell and I there are a few trainers that I didn't want to see him with (McGirt mainly). One of the Mayweathers might have been better for his style though.

Did anyone else think that Emmanuel Steward might have actually worked well with Khan? I know he developed a reputation recently for ruining some fighters but he worked wonders with Hearns, McClellan, Lewis and Klitschko...I thought Khan might have just clicked with him, a bit of safety first a-la Klitschko/Lewis would have been exactly what he needed maybe?

Warrior 55, I agree with you. He needs to develop a more defensive style and needs a coach who can do that. He needs to start less explosively. It might be an impossible task but its all that will get him through to a major title.

one of the mayweathers would have given him some much needed defense and overall slickness. roach works much better conditioning great fighters like Vasquez and Pac. just look at the shitshow of DLH vs. PBF

i think khan needs a high profile trainer like roach or one of the mayweathers, i think it would be a great move for khan. manny was my first choice trainer though

roach hasn't been able to sort out pacmans defence so i can't see him doing a better job with khan.

Manny would turn Khan into a complete bore. Look what he has done with Wlad, the guy is the biggest pusy in the HW scene with his handbag pawing jab.

he did a good job with lennox? and at least he would work on khans defense which he clearly needs to improve on, nothing will change khans offensive skills

Lennox had nearly everything before he went to Manny.

With Khan he would consign the offensive skills to the background and concentrate on defense. Khan would end up with a ***** paw jab and become a complete bore to watch.
