Harold Lederman scored it well except for round 3 which he gave to Campbell which made it a draw. If he'd have given that to Funeka as he should Funeka wins. A draw was the worst Funeka should have got, thats being generous giving Campbell a round that was clearly Funeka's.

 

So even if Campbell lost all the other 8 rounds it would still be just a 2 point win for Funeka which is a bit to close to call it a robbery.

Rounds 3 and 10 were swing rounds.

 

The only reason 10 looks like a swing round is because Funeka was dominating him from rounds 3-9 and Campbell's work 'improved' in round 10. People do this all the time, they give a guy a round because it looked better than the rounds he was getting soundly beaten in.

The problem is that Boxing is a sport of opinions and everyone likes to see something different in the ring and that will always cause arguement over what gets a fighter the decision.

 

Suprised nobody has mentioned Tyson Fury v John McDermott

 

Pacquiao-Hatton. Ricky was winning the second round by a country mile and hurt Pac a couple of times, before the ref made a premature stoppage. As Ray Hatton said afterwards, Pac 'was just throwing wild shots'. Really knows his boxing does Way 'atton.

 

Martinez/Williams fight was a total disgrace!

 

Aside from that scorecard, I don't see the big issue with the outcome. It was a close fight that could have went either way, you joker. I had Williams by one point and I also gave one round even. That said, there were a lot of swing rounds that were open to interpretation that could have been scored either way. Get over it and use the word 'robbery' the correct way.

 

I think someone needs to learn the difference between a close fight and a blatant rip-off job :roll:

I'd say Martinez vs Cintron was the worst...... then Funeka vs Guzman.

One thing I must state is my surprise that pretty much every debatable decision in a title fight in the UK has gone to the away fighter. Dilks vs Adamu, Hatton vs N'Dou, Thaxton vs Mezaache etc.

I know that Hatton - N'Dou wasn't really a robbery but I classify it as such only because it gives me a warm feeling inside when I think about poor old Matt getting jobbed on his own brothers promotion...classic.

 

Yeah I agree..... it was kinda close and you could say that he won it - but as N'Dou said, Hatton didn't land hardly anything clean all night.

To me, it's karma. If you disrespect the game, in his case fighting joke opponents for a decade and getting a shot at a micky mouse title because of your brother, getting a big payday because of your brother..... the game will always come back and bite you on the arse.

Even though I lost £20 on the N'Dou decision I was still jumping up and down like a proper nutter.

 

Biggest UK robbery is Fury v McDermott. Fury was outclassed period.
Biggest European is Sturm vs Gevor. Gevor dominated and knocked down Sturm only for it to be ruled a slip, shocker of a decision.
Biggest US is Guzman vs Funeka. How the **** was this a draw, Funeka won this by 4 solid rounds, feel tough for this guy as he has been on teh wrong end of a number of dubious decisions.

Many bad decisions like paulie v diaz and valuev v holyfield, but the top 3 were the worst in their regions.

 

I dislike Sturm and always root for his opponent, but he won the fight against Gevor. There was no knockdown and Gevor just won the early rounds mostly on activity. When Sturm picked it up, Gevor barely held on the last rounds, looked exhausted and missed most of his punches in the second half of the fight. Not a good performance by Sturm but clearly no robbery.

 

Too many close fights being called a robbery, the one that sticks out as being appaling though was Funeka v Guzman. I had Funeka winning 117-111.
