His father writes often in finnish boxing forum. He said that Robert's next opponent will be a former cruiserweight title challenger. Let see if this is going to happen! Johnathon Banks maybe? :think He is ok opponent for Helenius at this point of his career.
I am interested to see what he does next. Somebody's ass is getting KO'd is all I know when Helenius comes to town!
I thought it was Darnell Wilson at first! Banks is a good fight, present Robert with a differant style and Banks has some good wins.
I though Mormeck was already signed? Would be a good fight, but Banks makes more sense at this stage of Robbe's career. Mormeck would just be a hasbeen on Helenius record similarly to the way Mercer is talked about like trash when he was KOd for the first time by Wlad when he was past prime.
Helenius next fight is scheduled for june 25th. Sauerland have made offers to several opponents. One of them is Liakhovich. According to Kathy Duva they are interested and they have made an counter offer to Sauerland. Yoan Pablo Hernandez is also having a match at the same event. Also his opponent is tba. I have no idea who are the other possible opponents. One of them is former cruiserweight boxer as mentioned here earlier.
With only 15 PRO fights Helenius is now ranked #2 by WBO, #7 by IBF, #11 by by WBA and #9 in the ring ratings. So he should be fighting opponents inside the top 5 rankings . . . other than that . . . it's just a waste of time.
The problem is that most of them are already signed or inactive. Just looking at current boxrec rankings: 1)Wlad 2) Vitali I think you agree he shouldn't go after either Klitschko at this stage 3) Haye 4) Adamek Both signed to fight Wlad/Vitali 5) Povetkin Hasn't fought live opponent for years and it looks like he is comfortable with it 6) Helenius himself 7) Chambers 8) Thompson Those would be good fights for Helenius, but they are both busy in IBF eliminator.
