Rocky Fielding Attitude

Look, he's a lot braver than me but it is an entertainment business. No one wants to see anyone get hurt but a lot of people paid a lot of money to watch that fight and got extremely short changed. It's not just about the money. Boxing history is full of upsets, incredible acts of courage and people given their all. We look up to these guys , it's why we love the sport. These guys were warriors and are admired long after they are gone. I hope Rocky's cash windfall makes up for his performances after taste. If everyone cashed out with substandard performances, the sports dead for the future generations of boxers. That's not a good legacy for a sport that you love.

 

Rocky came into this match with really a few tools to win ( size and surprise) and neither worked against Canelo because Canelo is an elite fighter and at that level everything gets magnified including the gulf in class. Rocky Fielding is a fringe world level fighter maybe a step below, Canelo is elite and he did what he was supposed to do.

Those body shots were brutal from the opening bell. Rocky took so many absolutely clean - just look what one did to Liam Smith. He had no answer to them and no way to avoid them.

If Canelo went more to the head then I think Rocky would have traded more and it probably would have been more dramatic. Better the way it happened for me. It's dangerous having that many levels between boxers.

 

Cant find his comment and I'm bored of loading more comments. I can see from reaction it was quite scathing. Uncalled for in your opinion?

 

Didn’t think Rocky attitude was good going into the fight but good luck to the lad
