Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez ¡

Did anyone see this guy on HBO. He's amazing. Perhaps the best flyweight in the past 30 years. I'm not a huge fan of the extreme lower weight divisions in general, but this guy is a destroyer with rare skills, and an interesting background.

 

I feel sorry for the people who only saw him for the first time on Sat :-(

 

I'm going to bask in the warm fuzzy glow of everyone appreciating him at the moment because as soon as he gets a little bit more popularity and progresses further with his career all the trolls and goblins will come out of the woodwork to slag him off.

 

Some fighters are near " troll proof ". They are super aggressive skilled guys who can hit, and delivery the goods nearly ever time. GGG is such a fighter. Kovalev is such as fighter. I think Gonzales is that type of fighter too.

 

You do see Kovalev and GGG getting a ton of hate right?

Gonzalez will be hated on by the usual suspects for not being an African American.

 

Boxing's newest star. Get him speaking broken English and he'll be the complete package.

Shows the networks (and us fans) that the lower weights deserve the attention the bigger weights get.

 

Disagree. Few American's or Europeans can make flyweight. The division is mostly Latino, or Asian.

 

Donaire used to get a fair bit of hate during his good run. I imagine Gonzalez will do the same.

 

No boxer is troll proof. Sooner or later the chants of overrated/ducking/glass jaw/quitter, etc... will happen to each of the ones that gain exposure.

Best fighter I've seen in a long time, at any size. Man, this guy is a real destroyer. Too bad he isn't a little bigger...say, PBF's size.

 

i wasn't impressed.. His opponent looked mediocre to me.

 

Mayweather would jump through hoops to avoid him.
